Did you know that October 29th is National Cat Day? We think our feline pals should be celebrated every day, but this is a purrfect chance to show Fluffy some extra TLC. A local Roswell, NM vet lists some ways to celebrate with your furry overlord in this article.
Kitties are hunters by nature, and they are instinctively driven to want to practice their pouncing and attacking skills. Give Fluffy something new to attack! You can go with a classic toy: catnip mice will probably always be popular with our feline friends. Or, try something more modern, like a remote-controlled toy.
Cats can be fussy, but most of them have a few favorite things. Fluffy can have some plain, cooked meat, fish, or chicken, or a bit of deli meat. Store-bought treats are also fine.
One of Fluffy’s cuter quirks is her love of boxes. Fluffy loves finding small spaces to curl up in. If you have kids, have them make a kitty box castle.
Fluffy doesn’t have any qualms about borrowing our things, but it’s good for her to have some things she doesn’t have to share with us. Cat towers are of course the gold star standard here. However, your furball may also appreciate a comfy bed or a kitty tower. If you are working on a tight budget, you can save some money by upcycling something. There are lots of great ideas for this online.
Did you know that many cats prefer to drink running water? Consider getting your furball a pet fountain.
One thing that’s bound to get your furry friend’s motor running? A fun session of Catch The Feather Toy or Pounce On The Red Dot! Interactive play is great for Fluffy! It offers your kitty a good workout, keeps her entertained, and prevents boredom.
No list of kitty luxuries would be complete without some of Fluffy’s favorite plant. Fluffy may also enjoy a small container of cat grass.
It’s easy to joke about how cold and aloof cats are, but that really isn’t fair. Fluffy is actually very loving and affectionate, and she’s just happiest when she’s with (or at least near) her humans. Pay some extra attention to your cute little pet.
