Barbara

Barbara

Front Office/Part-time Horse Management

Barbara has worked at Franklin Veterinary Clinic for 6 years starting her adventure as a assistant. She transitioned into the office over the years and now works part-time while managing Dr. Franklin’s horse paperwork for his breeding farm.

Barbara appreciates several parts of her job, in particular the knowledge she gained as a assistant. While she is now a full-time teacher, she still manages to keep Franklin Veterinarian as a second home.

Outside of the clinic and her career, all of Barbara’s time is spent on her family and her son Jab. Barbara compares raising a 2-year-old to handling a feral cat, something she is grateful she learned as an assistant. She is thankful her son can grow up around the second family she has made at the clinic.

Desirae

Desirae

On-site Office Manager

For the longest time, Desirae was convinced that she would be a wildlife biologist with an emphasis in animal enrichment. Desirae joined the veterinary world in 2011 at a mixed animal practice in southeast New Mexico. She later joined Franklin Veterinary Clinic in 2013. Desirae worked as a technician and receptionist for many years before becoming the on-site office manager for the clinic.

Desirae has always wanted to help animals, whether they’re big or small, domesticated, or wild. She finds it incredibly important to make sure clients and pets feel at ease while visiting the clinic.

Desirae has always been intrigued by wound care. She likes tending to patients with severe lacerations and watching the wound shrink to a minimal scar. She also thoroughly enjoys the mechanics involved in equine lameness. She bases her dedication on Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as if working for the Lord, not for man.

When Desirae isn’t at the vet clinic, you can find her sewing, reading a good book, or fishing and hunting with Brand and their two kids, Brynlee, and Haze. They also have two dogs Bodacious, a Pit Bull mix and Newt, an Australian Shepard.

Lynette

Lynette

Receptionist

Lynette loves animals (except reptiles!), so it makes total sense that she would feel right at home at Franklin Veterinary Clinic as a receptionist. As someone who was raised showing and raising registered cattle, Lynette is used to being around animals, so the fact that she gets to be around them all day, every day is a bonus!

Lynette still remembers the moment that inspired her to be around animals. One of the Hereford cows on her family’s property was pregnant, so a vet came out to perform a c-section on the animal. A fascinated Lynette recalls hanging around and asking questions about the procedure. Fast forward many years later, and now she spends time around different animals undergoing a variety of procedures!

A proud Colorado native, Lynette still shows and owns cattle – in fact, she has a third-generation livestock producer! In her free time, she loves horseback riding and spending time at the racetrack watching horses gallop around. She also enjoys being in the kitchen, tending to her garden and spending time with her friends and family.

Ashley

Ashley

Receptionist

Since Ashley was little, she had a plethora of animals, from reptiles to mammals. She is from El Paso, TX, but she was raised in Naples Florida. Living in Florida she has had snakes, lizards, bunnies, dogs, and just recently she had a cat, he was her first cat ever and she loved him so much. He was rescued as a kitten and Ashley thought he was a female but he turned out to be a male and his name is Mandy.

Since Ashley has been here at Franklin Vet Clinic she has been really wanting a puppy. She is still going to school to become a teacher so having a puppy would be a lot of work.

Ashley is happily engaged. She and her fiancé have 3 dogs, Smokey, Indie, and Odie-Bear. They now live in Ruidoso and they enjoy it here, especially during the summer, they also like fishing and grilling.
