If Pets Had Thumbs Day

March 3rd is If Pets Had Thumbs Day. This is definitely one of the sillier pet holidays on the calendar, along with Cat World Domination Day and Spoil Your Pup Day. Though this isn’t likely to happen anytime soon, it is fun to think of what our four-legged buddies would do if they suddenly grew thumbs. Online Shopping

This may very well be the first thing that our furry companions were to do if they suddenly grew the ability to go online. As to what they would order? Fido would probably go for steaks, beds, and lots of toys. As for Fluffy, we would expect her shopping cart to contain catnip, food, treats, beds, scratching posts, cat furniture, live fish, and a few random appliances.

Social Media

Our furry friends are already on social media, but they may very well want to ramp up their online presence a bit, perhaps by posting more selfies. It wouldn’t be entirely out of character for Fluffy and Fido to get into some online spats with each other, either.

Scratching Itches

Pets often appreciate when we give them a hand getting those stubborn itches. However, Fluffy and Fido would also be thrilled to be able to use scratchers, rulers, or forks to get those itchy spots. 

Grilling Out

This one would probably be more appealing to Fido … though, to be fair, it doesn’t matter much to him how his food is cooked. Fluffy would probably ruin her canine roommate’s dinner, just to be a jerk. 

Fishing

Cats are quite talented hunters. Fluffy doesn’t need help catching fish, but she wouldn’t mind the convenience that a fishing pole would offer. Fido would be more than happy to accompany his feline roommate … assuming he wasn’t already locked out of the house.

Computer Hacking

One thing we know about kitties? You really never know what they’re going to do next. Fluffy may try to hack into some key sites. Then again, she may just amuse herself with online gaming. 

Texts

There are some pretty cute sites playing with the various scenarios and conversations we could have with our pets if they could text us. Then again, maybe it’s better that they can’t!
